Our online booking process is secure and accepts payment by credit or debit card. 

If you wish to book please ensure you read carefully our booking terms & conditions and in particular note the main points below, and please note that by booking online you are therefore acknowledging you have read and accept the booking terms & conditions.

Booking Terms & Conditions

Please check the dates carefully prior to booking.
Once made a booking cannot be transferred to an alternative date. If for any reason you are unable to attend please feel free to send a substitute. If you book a class for several days duration please make sure you can attend all days.
All Courses must be paid for in full prior to the start date. Payment can be made by cash, cheque (made payable to "Southside Sewing School"), Paypal or credit/debit card. Promotional Discounts are for a limited time only and only in relation to "New Dates" added to the website for booking, promotional discounts are not available on pre existing bookings or given retrospectively.  Student discount of 10% is available to all students who book an additional course after having completed either a Full Day Basic Introduction Class or any other subsequent Course.

Deposits
When a deposit is charged to secure a course an invoice is issued for the balance approximately two weeks prior to the start date.  Deposits and class/workshop payments are non refudable.
For Workshops there must be a minimum of three students booked on the course for courses to run. In the event this number is not reached students can either be refunded in full or swithch to an alternative available date.

Gift Vouchers: are valid for 12 months from date of order.

Cancellations By you:
Refunds less deposit will only be given for Courses that have been paid for in full, and will be issued on the following basis.

Cancellations By us:
If a cancellation is unavoidable a full refund or an alternative date will be given.

Class Sizes:
Classes are restricted to a maximum of four students per class.The minimum class size required for classes to run is, two students. In the event that the minimum enrolement is not met the class will be cancelled  and an alternative date offered or payment refunded in full.  For Workshops. see "Deposits" above.

Pattern:
Standard patterns supplied by the School are to fit UK sizes 4 (bust 32" waist 25" and hip 35")  to  20  (bust 46", waist 38" and hip 48") US sizes 2-16/18  should students require a pattern size outwith this, please contact the school two weeks prior to the start of the course with a note of your measurements, whereupon the school shall order a pattern for you comparible to the pattern utilised by the other students. 

Personal Sewing Machines:
Please note that due to Health and Safety requirements the use of a Students own sewing machine in the school is not permitted.  All School sewing machines have passed stringent safety electrical tests and approved by a Registered Electrician.

Student Requirements
All courses and classes have an element of both hand and close machine sewing which require a degree of dexterity, accuracy and good eyesight. Where a student's eyesight is corrected by the wearing of eye glasses then these must be brought to the school and to every class. Tutors are not required to complete students work/projects due to a students poor eyesight.

Covid Restrictions and Guidelines

We ask students not to attend if they have any symptoms at all of Covid 19.
We also realise that the situation can change very rapidly from day to day. Please enssure we have your mobile phone number and if necessary leave a text message on 07896976607.
Prior to attending any class please download the NHS test and trace app. If possible we would appreciate you taking a lateral flow Covid test at home prior to attending.
 

  1. On entry you will have to sanitise your hands;
  2. Scan our QR code onto your phone;
  3. You must wear a mask on entry;
  1. Only 4 students will be allowed to attend a workshop at any one time;
  2. Each student will have their table;
  3. Students will be asked to keep within their work area unless using the iron;
  4. Your tutor will be wearing a visor;
  5. Students may bring their own refreshments;
  6. Students must wear a mask at all times;
  7. We supply the sewing machines, scissors irons etc, all of which are sanitised before and after class. There is no sharing of sewing machines.
  8. We ask that you wipe the handle of the iron with a sanitising wipe after use
